something new
In our daily lives we shouldn't merely exist. Instead we should indulge fully with no fear or anxiety, instead replacing insecurity with a deep desire to live each fleeting moment COMPLETELY. Laugh whole heartedly, add to our daily recipe for success and desire to expand our point of reference… only then can we positively affect others around us and influence change everywhere we go even without speaking a single word.
1. Go through your stuff and make bi-annual trips to your local Goodwill stores… and it's a tax write-off and you're passing a piece of yourself onto someone who truly needs it and appreciates the gesture.
2. Purchase at least one great piece of art/literature/classic film that you haven't heard of just to broaden your scope and perspective. In that newfound knowledge comes understanding and tolerance that you may not have had.
3. Witness a loved one growing, learning, loving and laughing… there's nothing better in this world.
4. Tell someone how you REALLY TRULY feel about them. Unfilter your thoughts and show them exactly what you love in them.
5. Live today like it is your last. What would you do?
6. Enjoy a film by yourself, it's envigorating. In isolation is when you find out who you really are.
7. Don't take yourself so seriously…. it's ok to spread love and become a person who cares about other people…. it's not all about you.
8. Put the bills aside for a minute, indulge in something that you miss out on in order to make ends meet.
9. Hurdle your own fear or try something that you've always dreamt of trying. (For me, it was skydiving.)
10. Reconnect with a family member that you haven't spoken to in a minute. A minute being longer than a day....
11. Simply SMILE. It's amazing how much better it makes you feel.
12. Revisit your hometown, high school, college town, or other nostalgic place… never forget where you come from.
13. Begin writing your life experiences in a diary or journal. Writing clears the mind and exposes the soul.
14. Clean your place and in turn clean your inner self…maybe it's just me but cleaning and de-cluttering always makes me feel better in other areas in my life.
15. Go somewhere new every single day. Museums, parks, galleries, restaurants, nature centers, whatever... you'd be amazed at the things you pass on a daily basis without really SEEING it. Go for it! You'll see the world in a different light.
Try it. You'll see why attempting something new may just be the therapy you need to live a fuller life.
