the persistence of memory

Hold the phone.... Temple Grandin is speaking at Drury University on Thursday! And for anyone who isn't familiar with perhaps the most inpirational woman who happens to be autistic, Temple Grandin, Ph.D., has been called “the most accomplished and well-known adult with autism in the world.” Her autism has given her a unique perspective into the lives of stock animals, and half of the cattle in the U.S. are handled in facilities designed by Grandin. Grandin, the author of six books, has been the focus of much media attention over the past few months. Grandin was named a “hero” by Time magazine and was placed on their list of the 100 most influential people of 2010. I'm so excited to hear this woman speak and I still have to watch the HBO movie where Claire Danes portrays this incredible woman. Below is their photo after Claire Danes won the Emmy for her portrayal of Temple.
