beware of low lighting

first, let me preface this blog with: everyone knows what it's like to have met someone in poor lighting. it's NOT pretty! from a more practical place, i wrote this blog after finding lamps that i had been searching for and wanted to share my experience. from what i know, everyone needs a range of lighting that encompasses ambient, work-related and of course a variety of lamps to make any room in your house livable while creating a certain look. when i first moved to LA, i found my way into lamps plus who had "going out of business" signs on their windows (not knowing this was their business strategy) but found a Tiffany-esk lamp that weighs a good 15 pounds but was exactly what i wanted for my non-existent apartment. *it was all in my mind though so that's all that mattered!

from a decorative and organizational stand-point, my biggest key to finding the perfect arrangement of lamps and light fixtures for your place of interest are:
- mix old with new
- don't be hell-bent on matchy-matchy setups
- quality costs
- vintage makes anything exceptional
- functionality must meet accessibility
- have some fun!
- try something new
- re-arrange every six months
- sell the old and invest in the new
- be OPEN to change
your home is where you need to feel like YOU... and being able to see what the heck your doing is a plus, too! happy light-looking.
